Walk To Cure Diabetes!!!

Last year I started attending a NYC Teen Support group sponsored by Juvenile Diabetes research Foundation. It was amazing meeting with teens and young adults to discuss our lives and challenges.
This year they have organized a team to walk at the New York City Walk to Cure Diabetes at Batter Park! I'll be joining them along with some of my school friends who are amazing enough to walk and even donate! As you all probably know, I've been doing the Walk to Cure Diabetes for years. Its a wonderful way to support families dealing with diabetes while raising money for crucial research.
If any of you would like to support me and help the Teen Team reach their fund raising goal, please visit my page and donate whatever you can!

If you were planning to donate to the Augusta walk, that is just as awesome. My mom is working closely with them this year and they would also appreciate your donation.
Anything you can do to help will make a difference!

Updates

Hello family,
I know its been a while since I've blogged, but as you know I've been busy with traveling to Virgina and then makeup work. Luckily all my teachers were very accommodating when I told them I had to miss their classes for Grandpa Jack's funeral.
Now that I've made it through a full week of class, I thought I'd let everyone know that I really love all my classes.
As usual, my Spanish class is a bit to large to be really effective (2 years of a language are required for most majors, so a lot of people seem to take Spanish). However, my professor is very nice and the book we use is really interesting.
But of my education classes are amazing. One is very political science based so I'm learning a lot about that. My Foundations of Special Education class is probably going to be my favorite. I'm the only sophomore but I've been able to keep up in all the class discussions and everyone else is as enthusiastic about teaching as I am, which is wonderful.
I've been using the NYU career services to apply for a few weekend and evening babysitting jobs. They pay really well in the city so hopefully someone hires me!
I also sent in my application for study abroad in Madrid this Spring. I'll find out by September 30th- keep your fingers crossed...

Last night was my friend's 19th birthday so we went to a Thai place called Peep. The walls of the restroom are double sided mirrors- when you're inside peeing you can see everyone in the restaurant but they can't see you. It was very interesting.

School Starts Soon

My classes start on Tuesday.
I am taking a class about Education and The American Dream, a Spanish Cultures class, Foundations of Special Education and Spanish 3.
So far this week, my friends and I have gone on a lot of walks to explore our new neighborhood (the West Village). We also went to dorm events with free food and we saw the musical Hair on Broadway.
Yesterday, we went to Coney Island. I'd never been there before! Its really cool but the rides are expensive so we mostly just walked around and went down to the beach.
